X8 Coming To O2 UK

October 7th, 2010 admin No comments

O2 looks to be landing itself an exclusive on the forthcoming Sony Ericsson X8 in the UK. O2’s October product catalogue lists the handset at £129.99 for PAYG and it’s branded as ‘Only on O2′. The price point is actually pretty good considering that the X8 is broadly comparable to the X10 Mini. The screen is bigger than the X10 Mini’s of course, but the camera is a bit weaker at 3.2 MP compared with the X10 Mini’s 5 MP sensor.

The downside tot his, and you knew there had to be a downside, is that it’s an exclusive on O2. Why is that a downside? Well O2 are not exactly the bets network in the UK. Not that any networks is perfect of course, but the frequent data outages and network failures don’t help their image any. Maybe the exclusivity won’t last … here’s hoping.
