How to Delete Chat Messages History in Mac OS X

In the Mountain Lion test, there was no means to delete chat history in Messages app from the chat window. The best way to delete the chat history is to do a ‘Clear Transcript’ but it felt to be not quite effective because the transcript will emerge again when Messages opened again like never been removed before.
