Apple seems to be more involved as a partner of the book publishers in this case, a move that much different when they tried to enter the world of music while rummaging the major labels. Textbooks for iPad is able to provide the students a modern and interactive replacement for conventional textbooks they use in general. This application is supported by the integration of multitouch gestures and presenting with a dictionary and notes. The students can highlight the text, notes and virtual cards to make notes as reference material while learning.

For starters, the high school level books will be available through the iBookstore for a maximum of $ 14.99. The publishers who provide books to present their publications to iPad, among others, Pearson, McGraw Hill and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

To create interactive books and digital books for iPad, Apple also introduced the iBooks Author. Mac application provides a wide range of tools to help anyone create and publish interactive digital books for the iBooks store. This application is very similar to iWork applications and also includes a gallery support, 3D animation, video and interactive images. The users can also include custom or HTML5 Javascript code into eBooks by Author iBooks.
