Android Apps on BlackBerry Playbook Almost Real
RIM has promised BlackBerry Playbook 2.0 to release this month, February 2012. And RIM seems to be fulfilling that promise. From the BlackBerry developer’s blog , RIM convey to release PlayBook OS 2.0 software soon.
Playbook software update will make the output of RIM’s first tablet can run Android applications and games. Android is known to have hundreds of thousands of applications, in the near future will be also be enjoyed by BlackBerry Playbook users. To support the release of Playbook OS 2.0 RIM opens opportunities for developers to register their Android apps in BlackBerry App World so that the current release of OS 2.0 will have their applications ready for download.
To be approved by the BlackBerry App World, Android applications listed may not include the word ‘Android’ and also not accompanied by a green Android robot logo. In addition developers are also not allowed to include links that can take the user to the Android Market or otherwise.
RIM said that the porting of Android applications to the BlackBerry Playbook is not a complicated thing so hopefully there will be many Android developers are willing to put their applications into the BlackBerry App World.
