Android and iOS Causes The Fall of PC Industries
The graph below was made by Horace Dediu at Asymco with the help of data published by Jeremy Reimer. With Reimer’s data, Dediu added the statistics of smartphones, PCs and Apple data released by Gartner research institute.
From these data in mind that Android, along with iPad and iPhone, has been shipped all over the world. The handset unit recorded much higher than PC industries in the same period. More detail, there are 336 million PC units shipped during 2011 (not including Apple Mac). On the other hand Android and iOS devices have been sent 358 million units.
Although Android is put in a same group together with iOS but from the graph you can see Android devices beyond iPhone and iPad in delivery time when each broken down and are not in one category.
