Amazon Ready To Release Kindle Fire 2 In May 2012?

Last week has actually been circulating rumors about a Kindle Fire will release a 7 inch version and also a new model of Kindle Fire measuring 9 inches by mid-2012. Today, a source of China Times reported that Kindle Fire 2 could be a circulate in May this year.

According to that source, the new Kindle Fire model will not be specially manufactured by Quanta, but also by Foxconn factories in order to cut production costs. Amazon is rumored to also be more in control of what components will be presented in the Kindle Fire 2, unlike the case of Kindle Fire predecessor where Amazon hand over a full selection of components to the OEM.

Currently, Amazon is actually experiencing a huge loss by selling each unit of the device $199, but for the cost of production alone is estimated at $250. Assuming that this new device would at least as successful as its predecessor, Amazon will probably be in a better position to negotiate the price of the components while keeping the retail price of these devices in order to remain affordable.

There is still no more information about the hardware specifications of what will be included in this device, but the manufacturer is expected to start getting the necessary components around the month of March 2012. If everything goes well, then Kindle Fire might soon be circulated in May or June this year.
